Miguel Athayde Marques holds a Ph.D in Business Administration from the University of Glasgow (UK) and a BA (Licenciatura) from UCP. Currently he is the President of the Lisbon Stock Exchange and executive vice president of Euronext. Prior to that, he served as an executive board member of Portugal's largest bank - Caixa Geral de Depósitos (2000-2004), a member of the Executive Committee of Jerónimo Martins S.A. (1996-2000) and the chairman and CEO of ICEP, the Portuguese government agency for inward and outward investment, export and tourism (1992-1996). He also served as a consultant to the Portuguese Ministry of Finance on the development of the capital markets.
