The course goals are: to reinforce and deepen knowledge previously acquired by students in their undergraduate degrees, specially by highlighting the importance of constitutional justice as means of upholding the democratic Rule of Law; to deepen the characteristics and unique features of the Portuguese constitutional oversight system from a dual perspective, historical and compared; to establish a connection between articles 277 et seq. of the Portuguese Constitution and the Law of the Constitutional Court; to give an overview of the overarching trends in Constitutional Court case law; to encourage direct contact with the Court.
