At the Portuguese Catholic University Law School in Lisbon, Carla coordinates the Postgraduate Course in Tax Litigation where she teaches modules on judicial appeals and tax arbitration. She is Coordinator of a Crime and Taxes course where she teaches the module on Criminal & Tax Procedure, and teaches Tax Litigation and Arbitration in a Master's Degree on Tax Law. 
 
Carla teaches Tax Law and Tax Litigation in the Law Degree. At the Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, she teaches the discipline of Economic and Business Law in the Economics and Management Degrees. At the Catholic University of Angola, she teaches Company Law discipline (Industrial Tax module) in a Master's Degree of Business Law. Carla is a guest lecturer at the Higher Institute of Legal and Social Sciences of Praia City, as well as a Coordinator of the "Modus Operandi" training at the General Tax Administration of Angola.
 
Carla presides over Arbitral Tribunals in tax matters. She holds a PhD in Tax Law from the Faculty of Law of the New University of Lisbon, and holds a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from IDEFF. She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. She was a consultant to the Ministry of Finance of Cape Verde. She was a lawyer at Vieira de Almeida, PLMJ and Sérvulo.  Carla also served as Deputy Secretary of the State for Tax Affairs of the XVII Constitutional Government, and was senior consultant at KPMG.
 
Carla is the author of Annotated Arbitration Legal Regime, co-author of Tax Litigation: Process, Procedure, Principles, Guarantees and Tax Litigation: Process, Arbitration, and Execution. She is also the author of the manual "Legal Security in the Application of Law by Tax Courts". She is a speaker at various tax conferences and also the author of several opinion articles in specialized journals. Recognized by the International Tax Review under Women in Tax Leaders for several consecutive years.
