The goal of this course is to endow students with a theoretical and practical understanding of two of the main contracts for consideration set out in the Portuguese Civil Code (purchase and lease, namely in urban leasing). Students are also expected to be able to solve exercises, by applying the principles and rules of the civil laws in force that have been studied in the course. Furthermore, students are expected to learn the way in which legal rules have been applied by the Courts by analysing case law, which is often used to kick-off an explanation of the underlying theory.
