Dr. Katarina Pijetlovic is an Assistant Professor of Law at Católica Global School of Law and Católica Lisbon School of Law. Her interests include the application of the EU economic laws to the sporting industry, in particular the legal issues surrounding breakaway leagues, as well as fundamental rights of athletes and governance structures. She lectures in sports law and EU competition law courses.

Prior to joining Católica she worked as Reader at Manchester Law School, served as a sports law module leader at Liverpool University Football Industries MBA Programme, visiting lecturer at the University of Helsinki, a visiting scholar at ISDE Global Sports Law Master Programme in New York, and a lecturer at Tallinn Law School among others. 

She obtained her LL.M, LL.Lic and LL.D degrees at the University of Helsinki, and her LL.B at at Concordia International University in Tallinn, Estonia. 

She is the author of a book on "EU Sports Law and Breakaway Leagues in Football" (Springer, 2015), a General Secretary of Union of European Clubs formed to represent interests of small and medium sized clubs in the governance of European football, and an Advisory Board Member at Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA).
