Sofia Pais, Director of the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law and Professor at Católica Porto Law School, was awarded the Five Guide Star Women Competition Professionals distinction by the international organisation WomenAt (W@).

The 5th W@Competition Conference was held in Brussels on the 2nd of February and hosted the announcement of the 5 Star Competition Professionals Awards in Iberia.

Sofia Pais received the prize in the “guiding stars” group that aims to distinguish women professionals that are “trailblazers who have reached lead roles or have otherwise inspired with their professional expertise beyond the last five years, and who will typically count some 20 years’ experience in the competition field”, explains the organization.

In the words of Sofia Pais, “receiving the distinction of ‘Guiding Star’ in the category of Academia in Iberia, is a tremendous honour and it is a pleasure to be able to contribute to the growth of a real Antitrust culture”.

The same award, in the Enforcement & Judiciary category, was awarded to leading figures like the President of the Portuguese Competition Authority, Margarida Matos Rosa, and the President of the Spanish National Commission for Markets and Competition, Cani Fernández.
