Foundations of Private Law and the Law of Individuals

Catarina Andrade, Pedro Múrias / 11 ECTS / Semester / Portuguese

The course has a dual purpose. On the one hand, it aims at introducing students to the main structural features of civil law. Specifically, it is intended that students, in addition to perceiving the respective principles, understand the notions of subjects, legal situation, legal fact and legal object. On the other hand, it aims to give students a first contact with the regime on the Law of individuals. All this from a theoretical point of view as well as from a more pragmatic perspective, developing the ability to solve concrete problems and analyse critically jurisprudential decisions.
