Anastasiya Piakarskaya

Bio

Anastasiya Piakarskaya is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Global Tax Policy Center at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She gained teaching and research experience at the Belarusian State Economic University and through her collaboration with the Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties, where she contributed to tax policy decision-making. Her academic journey also includes research stays in Austria and Poland, focusing on international tax law and taxation of SMEs in the digital economy. Since 2020, she has participated in WU GTPC research projects, including the studies on the prevention and resolution of cross-border VAT/GST disputes, cooperative compliance and digital transformation of tax administration. Anastasiya earned her Ph.D. in Economics with a thesis on SME taxation and holds an LL.M. in International Tax Law.
