Benedita Menezes Queiroz is Assistant Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa where she lectures Fundamental Rights, EU Law, Public International Law and International and European Refugee Law. She completed her masters at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in 2009 and her PhD at the European University Institute (EUI) in 2015. Her monograph, Illegally Staying in the EU – An analysis of illegality in EU migration Law (Hart Publishing), was published in 2018. She held the position of Teaching Associate at the Gender Governance cluster of the School of Transnational Governance at the EUI. Previously, she lectured at the University of Lisbon’s Law School and was visiting scholar at COMPAS, Oxford University. Her areas of research are Migration Law, Human Rights and Gender Governance.
