Professor of Law at Católica School of Law – Portugal (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), where he earned his Doctoral Degree in 2009, with a thesis on Jurisprudence and Principles of Law. At the moment he is the coordinator of the PhD Programme in Law at Católica School of Law and also the coordinator of the research line on Law of the Sea and Environmental Law of the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law. He was advisor to the President of the Constitutional Court of Portugal from 2007 to 2012. His preferential research areas are the following: General Principles of Law, Human Rights and Constitutional Rights, Global Law, Law of the Sea and Environmental Law.
