This course aims to provide students with the foundations to comprehend the Portuguese Environmental Law in force, in its historical, cultural, principal, organisational, functional and material aspects. Notwithstanding reference to other elements of environmental law, the legal approach is predominantly administrative, by using environmental law to illustrate a specialised branch of administrative law. This supplements the mandatory attendance of the General Administrative Law courses (Administrative Institutions and Law of Administrative Activity) in the second year of the degree.
