The course aims to equip students with knowledge about globalization phenomena and international trade, as well as to develop scientific reasoning regarding its advantages, risks, and conflicting values.

I – Economic Perspective
- Globalization: facts, concepts, and relevance.
- Benefits of globalization: Trade patterns and the distribution of trade gains—who wins and who loses? Intra-industry trade and value chains. Multilateralism versus regionalism.
- Globalization, the Great Recession, the pandemic, and geopolitical instability: What about the future?
II – Legal Perspective
- Principles of free trade.
- Regulation of international trade: Special focus on the WTO and EU systems. Exceptions to the principle of free trade.
- Conflict resolution.
