Today, November 4, Keio University (Tokyo) has conferred the doctorate Honoris Causa on Miguel Poiares Maduro, professor at Católica Lisboa School of Law and Dean of Católica Global School of Law.

The distinction was granted in recognition of his formidable contributions to the world of academia, to the practice of law, as well as for his work in the field of governmental administration.

Miguel Poiares Maduro was previously honored by the President of the Portuguese Republic with the Order of Sant'Iago da Espada for literary, scientific, and artistic merit. Amongst other recognitions, he was the first winner of the Rowe and Maw Prize and was also awarded the Prize Obiettivo Europa (for the best Ph.D. thesis at the EUI) and the Gulbenkian Science Prize.
