Mariana Figueiredo Calado, a current student of our LL.M. Law in a Digital Economy, has won the 7th edition of the Law and Tech Technology Award. Offered by Abreu Advogados, this award distinguishes law students who authored innovative works exploring the intersection between new technologies and law.
This year's competition challenged participants to bridge the gap between law and innovation in the medical sector, particularly in the field of diagnosis, medical equipment, as well as surgical intervention and treatment. Mariana's winning paper explored the issue of brain implants and the challenges related to the privacy of “neural data”.
Her insightful analysis earned her a traineeship at Abreu Advogados, where she will begin her practicing career in September 2025.
