On October 20, the multidisciplinary research group in Law and Artificial Intelligence will organize its 1st ColloquIA, under the theme “The politics of fear – Or today’s world at the crossroads of privacy and security”.
Inspired by the current pandemic crisis, the debate will focus on the role played by digital technologies in the face of existential threats to our survival as individuals and as a democratic and liberal society. Against that background, we will discuss the tension between privacy and security that the use of such technological solutions in the fight against the crisis will inevitably bring to our ways of life and to our understanding of the exercise of freedom. The discussion will bring together national and international scientists, coming from different areas of knowledge, in a unique platform of discussion that fosters the dissemination and sharing of knowledge between experts and members of the wider community.
