Program Description

Besides Master’s Degrees aimed at professional practice, Católica | Lisbon School of Law also offers a Research-oriented Master of Law, according to the Bologna model.

This programme lasts for four semesters and entails achieving 120 ECTS, 60 of which correspond to the Master’s programme, while the other 60 ECTS correspond to the Dissertation.

Master’s Programme (2 semesters, 60 ECTS): 

Master’s students are meant to:

  • Write two research reports under supervision (15 ECTS each);
  • Be approved in (professionally-oriented) Master of Law courses chosen by the students among the courses offered by the School;
  • Obtain a pass grade in a Methodology course.
  • The course of study proposed by each student must be approved by the 2nd Cycle Coordination team, so as to guarantee the coherence of the choices made.
Dissertation (2 semesters, 60 ECTS)

The final Master’s Dissertation has a limit of 220,000 characters, which correspond to roughly 120 pages, including notes, but excluding indexes, bibliography and appendixes.
